Color me ORANGE...

My today's facebook status reads:  Orange seems to be the color of the month....I am liking everything that is orange except THE ORANGE itself :)

This shows how obsessed I am currently with this color. I have bought three dresses of varied shades of orange...bright orange...dull orange..peach...and yes an orange wallet too....lol. Just for a note, I am wearing an orange jacket today ;) Now I think its high time I stop gathering everything orange or else I will have  orange-o-mania...funny...But yes at times it does happen with me that I become so obsessed with a color that I go on buying stuff of the same color without realizing of overdoing it...So its time to control....

Glad that today is friday and I will  get my full quota of sleep tomorrow....sleepy me...Its not hat office is going hectic n all but the culprit is Bangalore weather which makes it soooo difficult to come out of my cosy blanket snoozing my alarm so many times that I tend to be late to office more than the times I am on time :P

No great plans on Saturday as India Pakistan match is scheduled and it will be a herculean task to even try to move M out of home to miss such a historical event..hehe....Good hopes for Sunday as I will make sure he compensates for the Saturday home arrest. Few things on shopping agenda and I take a pledge I will stay away from anything that even remotely matches orange ;)

Soon half of the year will get over...Time really does have wings...

Jiah Khan's suicide made me think how anything can affect one to such limits that he/she can take such dreadful step like suicide...I agree that yes it pains to lose one's love but it can't be love if it leads you to commit such heinous crime...Love makes you live each day with much more enthusiasm and hope and love. Anyways to each his own...

I am in a happy state of mind and looking forward to much more happiness to unfold in coming days..I can't help but SMILE :)))

TGIF....Have a super weekend guys....signing off

SALE SALE SALE !!!

Step out of the house and all you see in the market is big white boards printed in red shouting SALE SALE SALE!!!

One thing which I still don't understand is that why the word Sale is (mostly) printed in Red color.  The only reason which I (naughty me ;) can think of, is the danger color warning for every guy before he steps in the shop with his girlfriend or wife...that his wallet is at the risk of getting raided and for the girls..it is in red as it is the most attractive color with a very high frequency to be noticed.

Well whatever be the reason, this sale season comes every year.....year after year.......BUT...at a very odd time of the year. December - February is generally the big sale season..when a person is already bugged down by so many things. After being depleted of half of his savings in the festival season..Dussera, Diwali, Christmas, New Year...people are already struggling to manage to make ends meet...Then comes the another villain named Investment..which rub salt on the wounds... Among all these..there is this sale season teasing  us at our crisis and laughing at our thinning wallets and shrinking bank balance which has achieved a size zero figure by now.

But I will tell you the BIG surprise....I too wait for this sale period :) like others..The happiness quotient is a notch higher and the frequency of the market visits increase 3 fold. The temptation to buy branded things at half or one third price is so luring though I understand that it is not the case...but how does it matters even if  I am able to save some of the amount and the personal satisfaction of getting my favorite branded clothes at a lesser price than original. It is so difficult to resist yourself of the mouth watering sale...

A very handy tip coming from the horse's mouth....I mean to come from a freaking shopaholic me....that .. it is very important to make a list what you need otherwise you may end up spending your hard earned money buying stuff that you may not be in need of, which usually happens. So, think before you buy....

And now a confession....whenever I step in stores to buy out in sale....I like all the fresh or new arrivals...poor me (:  Does this happen with you too?

Happy Shopping!!!

Crazy Colors...

Have you ever imagined your life without colors.....in Black and White...so gloomy & lifeless, so dull & boring.... Colors are very noticeable attribute of the world around us. They add the beauty and charm to the world. They have so much to offer...an identity, feelings, recognition, happiness, imagination. Each color has its beauty...each one has a different story to say...Ever wondered that a color change can let us know that the fruit is ripe to eat...there are many such signals which colors impart to our life....the onset of spring...the fall of dawn....the crimson fire...silver streaks of cloud....the golden paddy fields.... Colors are the smiles of nature making it picturesque.

Feel the difference yourself!!!

Every color has a meaning associated with it and certain colors are known to lift up our moods for better.....Have you noticed that why people are more relax in green color rooms or why do weightlifters do their best in blue gyms. Much has been studied and written about colors and their impact on our daily lives. Color can influence our actions and how we respond to various people, things and ideas. In fact, researchers and psychologists have also tried to understand the impact that colors have in our life and our emotions so that these can perhaps be used as a way of therapy... color therapy and enhance the well being of people.

Throughout the world, Rainbows, a spectrum of seven colors is considered a symbol of hope. So, here is a brief description about colors and the meanings associated by them as per the various existing color theories.

RED symbolizes Action, Confidence, Courage

The most intense and passionate color. Red color is associated with heart and perhaps that is why it symbolizes love, passion, desire. Red is also associated with enthusiasm, energy and immediately draws attention. But since this color is so intense, it also can mean danger and is therefore used in traffic signals stop sign. It is also an appetite stimulant, thus often used in restaurants.

# I associate Red with love and attraction.

BLUE symbolizes Youth, Spirituality, Truth, Peace

Blue is among the most popular color and can be seen generously in nature...the color of the Sky and the Sea. It is associated with peace and tranquility. This color also symbolizes calmness and loyalty & is often painted in bedrooms. It also signifies dependability, communication and trustworthiness. Fashion consultants recommend wearing blue to job interviews because it symbolizes loyalty. It is the least gender specific color having equal appeal to both men & women. People are more productive in blue rooms. However blue is also associated with depressing and cold feelings...... remember Monday Blues???

# I associate Blue with evergreen and imperial

GREEN symbolizes Life, Nature, Fertility, Well Being

Green symbolizes nature and a renewal of life. It has relaxing qualities and is regarded as a symbol of freshness. It also has the meaning of fertility and so in many cultures, a bride wears green. Hospitals often use green as it relaxes patients. So it can be used for peace & harmony as well as to heal from depression, nervousness and other physical problems. The darker shade of green is considered rather masculine and signifies wealth and a conservative attitude.

# I associate Green with freshness and serenity.

YELLOW symbolizes Wisdom, Joy, Happiness, Intellectual Energy

Cheerful sunny yellow is an attention-getter. While it is considered as an optimistic color, people lose their temper more often in yellow rooms and babies cry more. It is the most difficult color for the eye to take in, so it can be overpowering if overused. Yellow enhances concentration and speeds up metabolism. It also symbolizes enlightenment, a positive future and energy along with creativity. This color can stimulate the nervous system and aid in communication & creativity.

# I associate Yellow with celebrations and cheerfulness, also 'sunny side up' :)

ORANGE symbolizes Vitality, Endurance, Warmth, Strength

A relative of red has a strong positive as well as a negative association. This color signifies warmth and a lot of energy, can stimulate activity and encourages socialization. It is also an appetite stimulant. Orange is associated with sun, happiness, creativity, success and energy. Orange positively affects your mood and is very suitable for home decoration because it gives warmth to the living space.

# I associate Orange with vibrant and joyous.

PURPLE symbolize Royalty, Magic, Mystery

Purple symbolizes royalty, luxury & wealth. It is a mysterious color derived from a mixture of opposites...Red's stimulation & Blue's calm. It has a very large feminine appeal to it and is therefore closely associated with romance. It however seems artificial at times as it is rare in nature.

# I associate Purple with Brinjal (that is what comes to my mind now :P

PINK symbolizes Love, Beauty

Pink can be youthful, fun, exciting & some have the same high energy as red..They are sensual & passionate without being too aggressive. Toning down the passion of red with purity of white results in the softer pinks that are associated with romance and blushing....It is the color of happiness and lightheartedness.

# I associate Pink with femininity and tenderness.

BROWN symbolizes Earth, Order, Connected

Brown can be seen everywhere in the form of ground and is an earthy color thereby implying quality of dependability. It can bring a feeling of connection with everything organic and has a sense of orderliness & stability around it. It also symbolizes sadness and wistfulness.

# I associate Brown with chocolates :)

GREY symbolizes Sorrow, Security, Maturity

It is the color of intellect, knowledge & wisdom. It is perceived as long lasting, classic and often as sleek refined. It is a color that is dignified, conservative and carries authority. But it is mostly associated with sorrow and loss.

# I associate Grey with dullness and boring.

BLACK symbolizes Death, Earth, Stability

Black has always been regarded as a powerful color with authority and power. In fact fashion experts often advise professionals to wear black since it is ordinarily stylish and has a timeless elegance to it and it also make people appear thinner. It also symbolizes submission in many ways & perhaps that is why it is worn by priests as a symbol of their complete submission to God. It also represents aloofness, emptiness, mysterious and evil.

# I associate Black as classy and sophisticated.

WHITE symbolizes Purity, Cleanliness

White is a neutral color that has always been associated with purity, innocence and freshness. This is the reason why white is worn by brides as it symbolizes virginity and a new beginning. It also implies sterility and safety and is therefore worn by doctors for its association with healing. Houses also have a white fence signifying safety. This color symbolizes fresh beginning and is supposed to help in clear thinking and purification of thoughts

# I associate White as pious and pure.

Rules for a happy U...

My life so far has been a smooth ride accompanied with small hiccups here and there. It was all rosy when I was protected under the duvets of my parents love. But I got to know the real meaning after being independent, well enough to face the world. And it has taught me a lot of things which I think will pave the way for me to tread the rest of my life. I will like to share some of the points which I feel are most relevant and may have brushed across everyone's mind for once.

Believe firmly that whatever happens; happens for good.

However rough patch you are going through, just have faith that it will pass and will be followed by something good. This is just a way of God to test you and ascertain that you are strong enough to face the tough world out there. If life will be a bed of roses then how will you learn to deal with thorns?

Decide what you want?

It is nobody but you who have to decide what you want from your life or which direction you want your life to proceed. Nobody can plan a life chart for you, they can guide you through the way but ultimately the baton is  in your hand. You are the propeller!

Do not judge yourself through someone else's eyes.

No one knows who you are as a person, better than you yourself. Praise yourself for anything good you do and learn lessons from your mistake as no one is perfect. It can be a wrong thing for someone, when it is an excellent job done for you. So don't measure yourself on someone else's scale. Every individual has his/her own parameters to define good or bad. Think that you gave this task the best you can have given. Learn the art of appreciating yourself.

Let people do bad, God is there to pay them back. It is not your job.

Just be yourself and try not to hurt anybody purposely. Spread joy and see how it rebounds to you. Remember always : What goes around, comes around. Karma's a bitch...watch ya back!!!

No one can make you feel inferior without your consent.

Never ever let a thought of being inferior in any terms let cross through your mind. God has created everyone unique and you are having something which no person in this whole world may be having. Whatever it is, its yours. Believe in yourself and say to yourself, 'I am GOD's unique child and he has showered his choicest blessings on me.'

Don't crib: There may be something better than this for you in store.

It is easy to find loopholes in everything that happens in our life. But just cribbing about that will do you no good. Take this as a way of God of having second thoughts and realizing that this child of him is a real sweetheart and he/she deserves a lot better than this.

Express your love...

Whatever you may be feeling for a person, your love one, parents, friends: just taking some time out to tell them how much you love them makes all the difference. It can mean the world to that person at that moment. Spread love and see how your life becomes a long lasting love affair. Reciprocate as well.

Don't postpone Joy!

We all have the habit of postponing everything to tomorrow, even our celebrations. We always wait for that big moment. But we hardly realize that we are missing the small celebrations which make us and others around us happy. Share happiness with your near and dear ones and see how it multiplies manifold. Who knows about that big moment?

You never know how strong you are until being strong is the only choice you have.

We are knowingly or unknowingly dependent on a number of people for support. But we should not make us such that the non availability of that person makes us feel helpless and shattered. We don't realize our strength until we are helpless and have no other options but to do it on our own.

Last but not the least...

Nothing last forever; not even your troubles.

Everything in this fast paced world in short lived. Even your troubles which are now giant sized may not last forever. They will subside and vanish in the due course. So don't lose hope and feel low. Gather the courage and fight them back and emerge as a winner, as you are the only one who can push them away from you.

Beloved LIFE!

Life is so uncertain. No one knows what's going to happen in the next move. We are moving ahead step by step knowing little that on which step life can take a new turn sometimes surprising us happily, sometimes shocking us, forcing to think that this can also happen to us. A small incident, person, talk, report can change the course of our life leading us into halls of darkness. Its said that be prepared for the worse but how can one be! How can we be prepared for the bad things in our life when the mere thought of it can send shivers down our spine. Its easier said than done.

But one such incidence and you suddenly realize the importance of the 'LIFE'. All the pursuit of wealth, material things of life take a back seat......when compared with the longevity of life. Our whole existence rotates in front of our eyes in sets of pictures. It feels as if someone has pushed you from a hilltop and you are falling free under the effect of gravity.

So here goes the mantra : DON'T POSTPONE JOY!. Live life to the fullest. Don't wait for the right time as it may never come. Have fun, enjoy, love your loved ones, live your dreamz. Smile, Be happy.
SMILE is the key to happiness....

"However rough the life may be
   You have to sail through...
However strong the storm may be
You have to make your way through...
However tough the time may be
Have faith...it will definitely pass through..."
