Am I too much into it?

"Planning is bringing the future into the present so that you can do something about it now."

I have been an admirer of this quote all along. But I think, off late all my thoughts are preoccupied with this eight letter word...PLANNING. I question myself...Am I too much into it? All the lists, surveys, brochures, pamphlets, road maps are piling on the desk. It is said that planning is stupid as life don't move as per our plan. So, one should take life as it comes, in all its glory, with all its pains and gains. But somewhere deep down in my heart, I have this feeling that we are free souls...we have the right to dream and to transform our dreams into reality, to relish & cherish them. True that not every time it realizes but it gives a satisfaction.....of... At least, we tried....We cannot plan everything in our life but yes for the material and physical things, the things which we have the power to mold can be planned.

I have always advertised myself as a great planner. I have always my To-Do list ready. After treading the path of my life so long, when I look back and see all the planned and unplanned phases of my life, I can definitely affirm that planned phases were so beautiful that I can still feel the joy of those moments. The history, geography and psychology of my life graph have  been on the positive side with my planned path carved out right from the conception of the dreams to their realization. It is not that those who don't plan have their life wasted but its more easier for the planner.

As per the Wikipedia...A plan is typically any diagram or a list of steps with timing & resources, used to achieve an objective...And planning is the working out of that plan. Hence, my definition of planning is well thought steps taken towards making your dream come true.

I have tasted the fruit of planning & trust me its sweet with a sense of contention. Its every individual's prerogative to take life his/her own way. 'To each his own.'

Hence, I get an answer to my question.....No, I am not too much into it.

"Without leaps of imagination, or dreaming, we lose the excitement of possibilities. Dreaming, after all, is a form of planning."

AND I dream with my eyes open......
